Retail Branding & Market Concept — Manda Moda

After living in Argentina, I became fascinated by how different the fashion retail landscape is compared to the United States—particularly the limited accessibility and inefficiencies within online shopping. This experience inspired me to create Manda Moda, a retail concept developed to explore how branding, merchandising, and consumer behavior intersect within the Argentine fashion market.

Manda Moda is a curated ecommerce platform designed to connect consumers with local women’s fashion brands, highlighting regional style, accessibility, and brand storytelling. The concept reflects my interest in international retail strategy and my ability to translate cultural observations into a structured merchandising and brand solution.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Manda Moda is a retail branding and merchandising concept that examines how consumer behavior, assortment curation, and cultural context influence fashion retail strategy in Argentina. The platform is centered around offering a thoughtfully curated selection of women’s fashion from local Argentine brands, reflecting regional style differences, shopping habits, and market preferences.

Through this project, I analyzed target customer profiles, brand positioning, and visual identity decisions, translating market and cultural research into a cohesive retail experience. The concept emphasizes strategic assortment planning, storytelling-driven merchandising, and accessibility for consumers seeking locally designed fashion.

In developing Manda Moda, I conducted research on Argentine consumer behavior, fashion trends, and regional style influences to inform brand positioning and product storytelling. These insights guided visual direction, messaging, and assortment decisions to ensure alignment with the target customer and demonstrate how cultural context can drive effective retail and merchandising strategy.
These projects demonstrate my understanding of the cultural, historical, and social dynamics within Argentina, which I applied to a business model that celebrates local fashion while catering to modern consumer needs. It showcases my ability to analyze cultural components and adapt business strategies to the unique characteristics of the target community.
Literature Sample
For my literature sample, I’ve chosen to share my final reflection from my Spanish Literature class I took while in Argentina. Over the semester, we explored various forms of literature and media, including essays, poems, films, music, and even visited a museum to view artwork.

The assignment required us to select quotes from the works we studied and analyze their meaning, while connecting them to our personal experiences in Argentina. This reflection gave me an opportunity to look back on my time abroad and deepen my understanding of the cultural context surrounding the material we studied. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed reflecting on my experiences.
