This introductory course provided foundational knowledge in Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and verb conjugations. It emphasized essential speaking and listening skills to build a solid language foundation.

SPAN 1020 – Elementary Spanish II (Fall 2022)

This course focused on sentence structure and the development of critical thinking in Spanish. It enhanced my ability to express complex ideas confidently in both speech and writing.

SPAN 2010 – Intermediate Spanish I (Fall 2022)

At this intermediate level, the course reinforced grammar and vocabulary while emphasizing real-world applications in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This comprehensive approach increased my comfort with using Spanish in practical contexts.

SPAN 2020 – Intermediate Spanish II (Fall 2022)

This course further developed my fluency in Spanish through formal and informal communication. It blended grammar review with practical language use, improving both my spoken and written Spanish skills.

SPAN 3020 – Intermediate Spanish Grammar & Composition (Fall 2022)

A deeper exploration of Spanish grammar and vocabulary, this course focused on refining my writing skills through creative assignments. It challenged me to engage with more complex language structures and enhanced my ability to express nuanced ideas in Spanish.

SPAN 3050 – Intermediate Spanish Conversation & Composition I (Fall 2022)

Focused on oral fluency, this course strengthened my pronunciation, intonation, and conversational skills through regular practice. Written assignments complemented speaking exercises, improving my overall linguistic accuracy.​

SPAN 4980 – Independent Study (Fall 2024)
For my independent study, I chose to research the culture of Colombian fashion, specifically focusing on designer Johanna Ortiz. I conducted a critical analysis of her work, looking at the cultural and historical context behind her designs. This project was a deep dive into a topic I’m passionate about, and it allowed me to connect my language skills with my interest in fashion.

MKT 4270 – International Marketing (Fall 2024 )

This course explored global business and opportunities, highlighting the need for strategies to adapt to diverse cultural, economic, and political contexts. Case studies illustrated how international companies adjust their marketing for success in markets.

SPAN 4160 – Spanish for International Business II (Spring 2024)
Taken during my study abroad at Universidad Blas Pascal in Argentina, this course focused on analyzing business case studies from around the world. We explored various business cultures and the economic and political landscapes of Spanish-speaking countries, enriching my understanding of global business practices and enhancing my ability to navigate cross-cultural business environments.

SPAN 3160 – Spanish for International Business I (Fall 2024)
In this course, I gained essential business vocabulary and concepts in Spanish. A semester-long project involved developing a business plan for a Central American country, which was a valuable opportunity to apply what I learned in a practical context. The course deepened my understanding of how business is conducted in Spanish-speaking countries and refined my communication skills in international business settings.

SPAN 4090 – Comprehensive Writing in Spanish (Spring 2024)
Taken while abroad, this course allowed me to refine my creative writing skills through a range of projects, including poetry and song analysis. I focused on Argentine Spanish, enhancing my ability to express personal and cultural narratives through writing. This course helped me develop a deeper connection with the language and its creative applications.

SPAN 3110 – Survey of Spanish-American Literature (Spring 2024)
Studying at Universidad Blas Pascal in Córdoba, Argentina, this course provided a comprehensive exploration of Latin American literature from the Colonial period to the present. Through the analysis of key authors, literary movements, and historical contexts, I gained a deeper understanding of how Latin American literature compares to American literature, enriching my knowledge of cultural expression in the region.

SPAN 3080 – The Hispanic World: Latin America (Spring 2024)
This course, also taken abroad, offered an in-depth look into Argentina’s political and historical development. We explored how Argentina's political regime has shaped its national identity and societal transformations, providing a nuanced understanding of the country’s complex governmental evolution and its impact on the broader Latin American context.
